Radu Ganescu is the president of the Coalition of Organizations of Patients with Chronic Diseases in Romania (COPAC). He is also a patient and president of the Association of People with Major Thalassemia in Romania and a strong activist in defending the rights of patients with chronic diseases. In 2016, Radu Ganescu was elected treasurer of the European Patient Forum and starting with 2018 he was elected vice president.
